Canadian Psychiatric Association Call for Nominations: Board of Directors 2004-2005 President-Elect : The rotation for CPA President-Elect 2004-2005 falls to British Columbia. The BC Psychiatric Association has been asked to submit its nominees to the Nominating Committee. Provincial Directors : One position for a provincial director becomes vacant at the 2004 Annual General Meeting, that of the representative from PEI. The PEI Psychiatric Association has been asked to forward nominations for this position to the Nominating Committee. The term of office for provincial directors is three years. Provincial directors can serve up to two (2) consecutive terms. Directors-in-Training : There will be one (1) vacancy for the director-in-training position, that of the Atlantic Region. The members-in- training and Fellows Section solicit and submit nominations for these positions to the Nominating Committee. Directors-in-training hold office for two (2) years beginning no later than the end of their second year of resident training. MIT nominees must also be members of the CPA in good standing. Note: In addition to nominations received from Provincial Associations, any active member of the CPA can be nominated for a vacant office other than that of a director-in-training by a petition signed by twenty-five (25) or more active members of the Association and delivered to the Secretary Treasurer of the CPA seventy-five (75) days before the Annual General Meeting. President-Elect and Provincial Director nominees must be active members of the CPA and residing within the province for which there is a vacancy. The Nominating Committee will submit the slate of nominations to members 90 days before the Annual General Meeting. Should there be more than one nominee for any position, an election will be held by mail ballot. |
