Résumé : Facteurs des patients associés aux rendez-vous manqués chez les
personnes souffrant de schizophrénie
Objectif : La recherche est limitée sur les facteurs qui peuvent prédire
les rendez-vous manqués. Cette étude a examiné les corrélations aux rendez-vous
manqués dans un échantillon de personnes qui suivent un programme externe
de schizophrénie.
Méthode : Nous avons mesuré le taux des rendez-vous manqués pour 342 patients
externes souffrant de maladie mentale grave et durable (c’est-à-dire ayant
des diagnostics de schizophrénie, de trouble schizo-affectif et de trouble
délirant) et fréquentant une clinique psychiatrique externe sur une période
de 2 ans et 3 mois. Nous avons recueilli et analysé les variables démographiques
et cliniques pour déterminer les différences entre les patients ayant des
taux d’absence élevés et faibles.
Résultats : Les patients qui ont manqué 20 % ou plus de leurs rendez-vous
étaient significativement plus jeunes, étaient plus susceptibles d’abuser
des drogues et de l’alcool, et manifestaient des taux moins élevés de fonctionnement
en communauté
Conclusions : Ce portrait peut être utile pour aider les cliniciens à fixer
leurs rendez-vous à cette population clinique, à identifier ceux qui peuvent
avoir besoin de services d’approche communautaires et à améliorer leurs
perspectives de traitement.
