New Education and Resource Manuals from The National Eating Disorder Information Centre
The National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC), a Canadian non-profit organization, undertakes public education and provides resources on food and weight preoccupation as well as other eating disorders issues. It serves individuals suffering from disordered eating, their parents and friends, health care workers and educators. Its award winning website is www.nedic.ca.
NEDIC has three new manuals available in English and French for educators, health professionals and individuals:
An Introduction To Food And Weight Problems defines eating disorders and examines the influences on food and weight preoccupation, and how to overcome them.
Eating Disorders: An Overview provides a comprehensive overview of the causes, treatment and biology of eating disorders.
Understanding And Overcoming An Eating Disorder looks at the attitudes and beliefs common to those with eating disorders, and provides practical information and suggests alternative coping strategies and how to find help.
