Introduction

The CPA is committed to advancing the quality of mental health care for Canadians through the promotion and development of excellence in psychiatric clinical practice, education, training, and research as well as by supporting the provincial psychiatric associations in improving the environment in which psychiatrists practice.

These objectives are implemented through a number of volunteer committees and working groups, including:

the Council of Academies
(comprising the child, geriatric, forensic and psychosomatic added areas of competence)
